1. Proportionate representation
Context
Currently one member of the House of Representatives represents roughly 761,952 people. This is ridiculous. There is no way they can manage to speak for that many people. And the ratio only gets worse. My proposal significantly increases the size of the House of Representatives, which will force it to restructure itself a little in order to be able to function effectively.
Proposal
The number of members of the House of Representatives elected from each state shall be at least one for every 250,000 people counted by the Census.
The number of members of the Supreme Court shall be at least one for every 25,000,000 people counted by the Census.
2. Accountability to the States
Proposal
Any member of any branch of the government may be removed from office for poor performance so long as 50% of the States plus one is in agreement, using whatever mechanism each State’s Constitution, or equivalent, supports.
